CNC hosts Skills competition for elementary students

PRINCE GEORGE – There was spaghetti bridge building, wind turbine construction, and gravity car racing at the College of New Caledonia today (Feb 27) for the fifth annual Regional Skills Competition.

The all-day event saw nearly 350 students from 13 different elementary schools come together for a day of fun and to learn more about what CNC can offer.

Vice-Academic at the college, Chad Thompson said that CNC is celebrating its 50 anniversary and by showcasing the juniors skills competition then hopefully these students will be apart of the next 50 years of the school.

Teachers of various elementary schools shared that this is great for the kids, not only do they have fun but they are able to learn. They are able to learn skills like woodworking, geometry, architectural skills, and basic math.
