PRINCE GEORGE — The first half of a home-and-home series at the CN Centre did not go the way of the Prince George Cougars, falling 6-1 at the hands of the Kamloops Blazers.

PG was unable to stop the BC Division leaders’ offensive assault, conceding two goals in each period. Despite allowing six goals, Cougars starter Taylor Gauthier was stellar once again, stopping 43 of 49 shots he faced.

The lone home-team tally came off Josh Maser’s stick, with the Cougars captain potting his team-leading 25th of the season.

No rest for either team, Saturday they meet once again in the second half of a home-and-home series. The Cats and Blazers get underway at 7pm in Kamloops.
