Coronavirus closing public events and places

PRINCE GEORGE – As the worry about Covid-19 increases, public event organizers are faced with postponing or cancelling.

On Thursday, The World Curling Federation announced the cancellation of the World Women’s Curling Championships.

This announcement was made after BC’s Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry made the recommendation to suspend the event.

She also urged event organizers cancel any gathering involving more than 250 people.

Here is a list of closures in our region we know of so far:

  • Exploration Place – Closed for the next two weeks
  • Treasure Cove Casino Tables and Bingo Hall are closed until further notice
  • World Women’s Curling Championship – Mar. 14/ 22
  • Dance Fest – Mar. 14/20
  • Westwood Church – Sunday Services Mar. 15/ 22
  • College Heights Baptist Church Mar.15/ 22
  • Western Canadian Ringette Championships – Mar. 26/29
  • Council of Forest Industries Convention – April 1/3
  • Regional Science Fair Central Interior Science Exhibition – April 4
  • Hospice Antique Fair – April 4/5
  • Alice Cooper and Lita Ford’s concert – April 16
  • Cirque du Soleil’s AXEL – June 25/28
