House plants providing benefits as residents cooped up
PRINCE GEORGE – It’s been scientifically proven that many indoor plants are known to improve air quality inside your homes. So with many residents spending more time at home in response to both provincial and federal government mandates during the COVID-19 pandemic, Art Knapp is finding more people looking to pick up indoor gardening for both something to do and its health benefits.
“They’re at home, they’ve got the time, they need something to do,” said Lorena Van Hage of Art Knapp. “They’re wanting house plants to take care of. They feel inclined to get their hands dirty and keep themselves doing something and being busy, and just something to keep their mind off of whats going on in the outside world.”
No different than many of the remaining businesses that are still open in Prince George, Art Knapp Plantland Home and Garden has had to change some of their procedures in-store. For those who are taking extra precautions during this time, they have begun offering a curbside pick-up at the store whereby you can purchase items over the phone.
At this time, Art Knapp has reduced their hours of operation to 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Monday through Sunday for their College Heights location. Their Hart location remains closed at this time.
