Lheidli T’enneh Nation says they feel betrayed by SD57
PRINCE GEORGE— Chief of the Lheidli T’enneh Nation, Dayi Clayton Pountney says he is disappointed in last night’s outcome in the new Kelly Road naming decision.
“We are extremely disappointed that a majority of Board members reversed their support of Feb.25th to name the new school Shas Ti,” said Pountney in a release.
“They bowed to pressure from a vocal group of outspoken residents and in the process, have thrown up a major roadblock in the way of truth and reconciliation.”—Dayi Clayton Pountney, Chief of the Lheidli T’enneh Nation
Pountney continued by questioning what this decision will say to students.
