London Drugs making room for small businesses

PRINCE GEORGE — The ongoing pandemic has impacted many small businesses financially so enter London Drugs.

London Drugs stores across western Canada have a plan in place to give some small businesses a chance to sell some of their products within their stores.

The London Drugs store in Prince George has 28,000 square feet of floor space.

Plans are in the works to share some of the shelf space with local small businesses where some London Drugs stores are located.

Corporately, the goal is to create a space in the stores. The size of the space depends on the size and amount of the product.

The Canadian Federation of Independent Business reports that only 21 percent of small businesses in Canada are fully open due to the COVID-19 pandemic and 50 percent have reported that they are unsure if their business will survive.

As an essential service, London Drugs stores are open and have the ability to help small businesses that have had to close their retail stores, stay afloat.

Small business owners can apply online to learn if their products qualify. Some rules and restrictions apply.
