One man missing after weekend boat trip

FRASER LAKE — 35-year-old Jason Bouchard is missing following a weekend boating trip.

North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says sometime between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Saturday night Bouchard and a friend were on the Stellako River near Fraser Lake when police believe that the boat the two were in overturned with both ending up in the river. One person made it safely to shore.

She says Vanderhoof Search and Rescue, RCMP Air Support and Police Dog Services from Prince George attended the scene and conducted a search of the area.

Saunderson says the 12-foot aluminum boat was located on the river however there is no sign of Jason.
