Road rehab continues
PRINCE GEORGE—There’s a lot going on on the streets of Prince George this week with City crews starting on five different road rehabilitation projects.
A release from the City of Prince George says that that five projects account for around 8.5 lane kilometres throughout the city. Work on a one kilometre stretch of road on Patricia Blvd. is set to begin soon, this project will be the longest road rehab project of the year for the City.
The completion of road work on Alward St. between 10th and 15th Ave. and on Freeman St. from 8th Ave. to 15th Ave., was done earlier this week. Subject to favourable weather conditions, road rehabilitation on Gillett St. from 5th Ave. to 12th Ave., and Irwin St. from 5th Ave. to Harper St. is set to be completed by the end of next week.
For now drivers and cyclists are being advised of the fact that nearly two lane kilometres of Ospika Blvd. are being repaved this week between 15th Ave. and 22nd Ave. Work on this project is starting at 4 a.m. in an attempt to minimize traffic disruption.
