Canada added 419k jobs in July

PRINCE GEORGE-A slightly better than predicted picture on the jobs front.

The economy added 419,000 jobs last month and the national jobless rate fell to 10.9 per cent, down from 12.3 per cent in June.

The unemployment rate in Prince George was 9.8 per cent last month, down from 10.7 in June. Most employment gains in July were in part-time work.

Provincially, the unemployment rate was at 11.1 per cent in July, down from 13 per cent in June.
