Traffic stop turned drug trafficking investigation turns up drugs, cash and assault-style rifle

PRINCE GEORGE—Drugs, a large amount of cash and an assault style rifle were seized yesterday (Aug.31) as part of a drug trafficking investigation.

Prince George RCMP say that at around 8:30 p.m. frontline officers conducted a traffic stop on Continental Way in the BCR Industrial Site, the stopped vehicle was not insured.

When the vehicle was searched police located a large amount of uncut cocaine and cutting agent, RCMP seized the vehicle as part of the investigation.

Local RCMP say they then obtained a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant for a residence on the 2000-block of Central Street East. Search of the residence found a large amount of cash, suspected heroin, drug trafficking paraphernalia and an assault-style rifle with a prohibited magazine.

A 30-year-old male from the area was released pending further investigation and charge approval.
