PGSO makes Fall return

PRINCE GEORGE – After being forced to cancel the last season due to the pandemic, the Prince George Symphony has decided to go ahead with a season this fall.

Beginning on September 26th, there will be a series of four concerts to be held at the new ballroom at the Treasure Cove Casino.

“We are celebrating our 50th Anniversary this season and although we had big plans for a big celebration of our big milestone season, the world now calls for small so we have adapted to include small orchestra concerts for small numbers of patrons at a time. And we’ve broken our season into smaller sections so we can respond and adapt as health authority regulations change over the year,” says Teresa Saunders, General Manager.

The size of the orchestra has been pared down in compliance with ministerial orders from the Provincial Health Office, as will the number of attendees.

The first two concerts of the Fall Classics Series will be presented by our Core professional musicians, joined by community bass musician Susan Kelly and Vancouver violist Thomas Beckman.

In November Maestro Michael Hall will be back in Prince George to conduct two concerts with a slightly larger orchestra. For many, the highlight of the fall classics series will undoubtedly be the return of Leslie Dala as our guest pianist.

To close the fall season, a Kinder Concert will take place on December 5th with two afternoon performances. “Winter Wonderland” promises to once again bring smiles of delight to children three to eight years and beyond.
