2020 Labour Day Celebration looks different than previous years

Sep 4, 2020 | 12:45 PM

PRINCE GEORGE–Labour Day celebrations, much like many things this year, will look very different.

The traditional march and celebration hosted bt the Labour Day Organizing Committee (LDOC), including local unions and community organizations, will be a no-go.

So instead, the LDOC has collected financial contributions from a number of unions and community groups. The funds will be donated to a variety of local organizations on Labour Day, and throughout the year will provide food and beverages at their facilities to those in the community experiencing homelessness or other challenges meeting their needs and those of their children.

“What better way to uphold our tradition of Labour Day and our ongoing support for the community than to make food available to those who are in need. We are happy to see the excellent support from unions and community groups in Prince George for this event.”–Matt Baker, Coordinator, Labour Day Organization Committee
