PRINCE GEORGE – The pandemic has created a heavy burden on the health and economic sectors around the globe.

One sector that saw an unexpected change during the start of the pandemic in our community was the amount of water consumed.

Since March and up to a few weeks ago Prince George’s city water pump has been working twenty percent less.

According to the city, the upgrades in the water supply system, residents using less and commercial businesses turning its taps down has significantly dropped the amount of water pumped.

The current data indicates water consumption is going back to normal. The city would like to remind residents to be mindful of the amount of water they consume.

The full extent of impacts of the coronavirus pandemic on the city’s water supply is still emerging.
