No new COVID-19 cases in Northern Health

VICTORIA—217 new cases of COVID-19 in B.C., including two epi-linked cases.

For a total of 13,588 since the start of the pandemic.

Cases by Health Region:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 4,476
  • Fraser Health: 7,674
  • Interior Health: 717
  • Vancouver Island Health: 250
  • Northern Health: 383
  • People who reside outside of Canada: 88

None of the new cases are in the Northern Health region.

There have been no new deaths, the province remains at 259. 2,322 cases are active. There are 84 people in hospital and 27 of those are in ICU.

Two new healthcare outbreaks were reported for a total of 23 outbreaks in the healthcare system. No new community outbreaks were announced.

Once again health officials are reminding British Columbians to wash their hands, stay home when they are sick, wear a mask when social distancing isn’t possible and that keeping to small groups is the safest thing to do.

“A mask is especially helpful in public indoor spaces where you don’t know the people around you and the risks they may have,” reads the release.

5,101 people are under active health monitoring for being exposed to a known case of the virus.

10,954 people have recovered from COVID-19 in B.C.
