Neighbours ‘disappointed’ following ‘out of control’ house party near Paddlewheel Park

PRINCE GEORGE – Neighbours are disappointed after a large party on Halloween night turned violent forcing RCMP to hand out a $2300 fine to the homeowner.

“We don’t want to be handing out fines,” says Cpl. Craig Douglass. “But this situation warranted one.”

Neighbours say the area is typically quiet, and seeing the fights and altercations was disappointing.

“It was chaos,” says one neighbour.

When police arrived on scene just after 11:30 PM on Halloween night, they found roughly 50 youth many of whom involved in fights around a residence on Regents Crescent near Paddlewheel Park.

Police say there were several altercations taking place on the front lawn, in the backyard, and inside the home.

Paramedics were also called after mounties found two teens unconscious in the basement, both were transported to hospital for suspected alcohol poisoning,

The 51-year-old male homeowner was issued a $2300 fine for violating the BC Public Health Officer’s order for gatherings.

“We ask that you don’t attend these events, and we ask parents & guardians to prevent your children from attending these events,” says Cpl. Craig Douglass.

Douglass added as the holiday season comes into full swing, he urges anyone who sees’s a party that may be of concern to call 3-1-1 and contact the City of Prince George’s bylaw office.
