pgVICTORIA — Sixteen new deaths due to COVID-19 in BC, including one more in Northern health.

That brings the provincial death toll to 457 and to seven in northern B.C.

656 new cases of the virus provincially, 15 in Northern Health.

There are 8796 active cases of the virus in B.C, including 250 in Northern Health.

“Let’s be resilient in face of this surge. United and together, let’s make an impact today through our own personal actions,” reads a joint statement from Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix.

“Without exception, follow the provincial health officer’s orders in place. Remember that events, which refer to anything that gathers people together – whether on a one-time, regular or irregular basis – are not allowed for now. This includes religious, cultural or community events. Do not gather at home with anyone other than your household or core bubble.”
