PRINCE GEORGE – Ecole Heather Park Elementary and Westwood Elementary have been added to Northern Health’s list of schools possibly exposed to COVID-19.

Exposure dates for Heather Park include December 4th, and between December 7-8.

Westwood Elementary’s possible exposure to the virus happened on December 8th.

Parents are reminded that if you do not receive a phone call or letter from Public Health, their child should continue to attend school.

Only Public Health can determine who is close contact. Learning groups, friends or other connections may not be determined to be a close contact.

Northern Health says they will identify and notify close contacts who may be at an increased risk, and advise them to self-isolate and monitor for symptoms for 14 days.

Northern Health advised CKPG News as of Friday, contact tracing was backlogged, and there may be a slight delay of 2-3 days of contact tracing.

With these two exposure events that brings a total of 15 schools in Prince George with potential exposures to COVID-19.
