PRINCE GEORGE – Back as one.

For the first time in a long time, the UNBC Timberwolves men’s basketball team was back on the court as a team.

A few weeks back in online classes, the student-athletes throughout UNBC Athletics were kept in cohorts, placement dependent on whether they left town for the holiday break or not. But now, as head coach Todd Jordan says, there was a bit more hop in his players’ step.

“I think there’s obviously a bit of frustration with us being back to distanced training and things like that, but at the same time at least I know the guys are happy to be back together and there’s a bit more social interaction. A lot of the guys, when they go back home for Christmas, aren’t even able to access gyms at all. It

This time of the year would have seen the TWolves stepping back onto the court for the second half of their Canada West season. Instead, Coach Jordan has been needing to alter the methods in which he’s coaching, all while trying to keep his players engaged and motivated.

If anything, it’s forced the entire sports scene to get creative, and the Timberwolves are no exception to that. They’re hoping the work they’re putting in the gym will pay dividends later on down the road when Canadian University sports get back up and running.
