VICTORIA — The number of daily cases of COVID-19 has dropped to 572 in British Columbia.

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix say that brings the provincial total in B.C. since the pandemic began to 132,925. Of those, 124,252 have recovered.

Here’s the regional breakdown of cases:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 118
  • Fraser Health: 362
  • Island Health: 22
  • Interior Health: 57
  • Northern Health: 13

Henry and Dix say there are 6,877 active cases of the virus and of those, 481 people are in hospital, 161 of whom are in critical or intensive care.

There have been no new COVID-19 related deaths for a total of 1,594 in B.C.

A total of 1,943,230 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in B.C.

“As more people become eligible and more vaccines are approved, we will continue to update our province-wide program, including integrating people 12 to 17 years old, now that the Pfizer BioNtech vaccine has been approved for use in this age group.

“With additional supply now available, we’re accelerating our delivery and we also need you to do your part. We all need to register to reserve our spot and book our vaccine as soon as we are eligible,” say Dix and Henry.
