Spruce Kings land back into the win column with 5-1 win over Merritt
CHILLIWACK, BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings (12-5-0-1) have once again leapt past the Chilliwack Chiefs (12-6-0-0) in the pod standings after they defeated the Merritt Centennials (3-14-0-0) 5-1 on Wednesday night.
Prince George pieced together a three-goal opening period. Former Cariboo Cougars’ product Linden Makow got the first bit of lead down on the scoresheet. Christian Buono and Hunor Torzsok added to the score, giving the Spruce Kings a 3-0 lead after the first 20 minutes.
In the 2nd period, Rowan Miller and Mason Waite added tallies, while Nick Rheaume assisted on both scoring plays.
