PRINCE GEORGE – At the end of this month, the oldest protestant church in Prince George will turn 111 years old.

The church began with a canvas tent. Over 100 years later, the building has now become a fixture of the downtown.

Near the corner of 5th and Brunswick street, religious services are held inside the building formerly known as the Knox Presbyterian church.

The church known now as the Trinity United Church has the oldest protestant congregation in Prince George.

The first worship service was held back on June 26th, 1910, as part of a Presbyterian mission.

For the 111th anniversary, the congregation plans to celebrate on Sunday, June 20th, with some in-person seating and living streaming worship with special music and guests.
