Mackenzie hoping to become mountain biking destination with new trail system

MACKENZIE – Think of Pidherny but on a much larger scale and on the slopes of Morphee Mountain.

That is the latest project from the Mackenzie Outdoor Route and Trail Association who are trying to catch the eyes of mountain bikers far and wide.

“I think Mackenzie has a ton of untapped potential,” said Ross Hobbs, President, Mackenzie Outdoor Route, and Trail Association. “We just got approval for the first trail on our largest network on Morfee Mountain that’s a 16 km trail.”

The plan is to have the pedals being pushed and the tires rolling on new trails in gradual phases on the nearly 6000 ft high Morfee Mountain which overlooks Mackenzie.
