PRINCE GEORGE–BC Hydro says that the extreme heat has set record-breaking electricity demands three days in rows.

The old record for peak summer time hourly consumption was 7,900 megawatts which was broken on Saturday. Yesterday, a new record was set at 8,500 megawatts.

BC Hydro believes that through the rest of the summer we might get close to the new record but won’t break it again unless another heat wave occurs. The company says they’re more than prepared for high energy demands.
