Buckinghorse River classified as ‘being held’

PRINCE GEORGE — The Buckinghorse RIver wildfire in the Fort St. John Zone is being classified as ‘being held’ at 6,000 hectares with no immediate risk to Highway 97 N.
“With the resources currently assigned to this wildfire, sufficient suppression action has been taken that the fire is not likely to spread beyond its existing boundaries under the prevailing and forecasted conditions,” says Communications Specialist Sharon Nickel.
“Infrared scanning has been completed and there are presently eight fire fighters assigned to hot spots and extinguish areas identified from the scan which are at risk of continued fire growth.”
