Local woman gives birth on living room floor

PRINCE GEORGE – A local couple welcomed their third bundle of joy on November 10, however, the baby was nine days late and decided she wasn’t going to wait for her mom to get to the hospital.

“I woke up to more heavy contractions and then I felt my water broke [sic] and so I got my husband up and we were trying to get ready to take a taxi to the hospital,”

Stephanie Hall told CKPG, adding she knew she wasn’t going to make it to the hospital. She then asked her husband Keith to dial 9-1-1. At that point, she feared the worst, lucky the first responders arrived quickly.

“They got here within eight minutes and then within two minutes, they told me I could start to push because I had the really bad urge to start pushing and then within the two minutes they were here she was born.”

“I had a couple of tears in my eyes,” explained Keith Barns, the father of three. “I was starting to panic, but I didn’t want my wife to be in all this pain by herself. So, did have a lot of mixed emotions. But when it came down to the baby’s head first coming out [sic] I was really glad because there was professionals on site.”

Randy Haight was one of the paramedics who helped Stephanie deliver her baby, in fact, he was the one to catch baby Naomie on her way out. “I walked in and prepared to leave the house and head to the hospital and then realized within like ten seconds she is ready to push and I said push and it came out.”

Baby Naomie was born at 6:43 a.m. weighing eight pounds, ten ounces.
