326 new cases of COVID-19 in B.C., including 22 up north

VICTORIA — Just 22 new cases of COVID-19 in the Northern Heath region over the past 24 hours.

That’s the lowest number of new cases in all five health regions, where there were a total of 326 new cases of the virus.

The new/active cases include:

* 92 new cases in Fraser Health
* Total active cases: 930

* 53 new cases in Vancouver Coastal Health
* Total active cases: 471

* Total active cases: 561

* 22 new cases in Northern Health
* Total active cases: 261

* 71 new cases in Island Health
* Total active cases: 591

* no new cases of people who reside outside of Canada
* Total active cases: zero

One new death – a resident of northern B.C. – bringing the province’s death toll to 2,363.

As for vaccinations, 82% of eligible people in B.C. five and older are now fully vaccinated.
