Milton Mahoney, Rachael Weber winners of SD57 byelection
PRINCE GEORGE – The suspense is over, with 1,137 votes counted in Prince George, and 114 in Mackenzie for the School District 57 Trustee byelection.
Milton Mahoney was declared the winner in Prince George with 293 votes, narrowly beating former CUPE President Brian Trotter with 281, and former Federal NDP Candidate Audrey McKinnon who received 267 votes.
UNBC Associate Nursing Professor Shannon Freeman received 221 votes, while Andrew Burton notched 75 votes for 5th place.
In Mackenzie, Rachael Weber took the large majority of the vote beating David Szsucko 76-38 in the two-way race.
