Liquor license ‘suspended’ for Lambda Cabaret

PRINCE GEORGE – Following a pandemic party that defied COVID-19 public health orders on many levels, the BC Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch has taken action.

On Friday the authority which oversees liquor and non-medical cannabis regulations confirmed the liquor license for the Lambda Cabaret was suspended for non-compliance of the PHO order.

Several videos posted by the business themselves earlier this week showed dozens of patrons dancing, drinking, with no sign of any face masks.

“You know, it’s really just a slap in the face to our healthcare workers,” said Dr. Bonnie Henry, BC’s Provincial Health Officer.

One patron contacted CKPG News and said it was so crowded within the club that he decided to leave, and had actually tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday.

Those who do serve meals and meet all of the other criteria for being open must use the BC Vaccine Card system, something Lambda was not doing either.

A sign on the nightclub’s door states they will not comply with checking proof of vaccination for patrons.

On Wednesday evening Northern Health posted on their website the nightclub was ordered closed for failing to follow public health orders.

CKPG News has reached out to Lambda Cabaret several times for comment and directly to the owner Linda Wolf who was unable to be contacted.
