UN meets to discuss Russian invasion of Ukraine

The UN General Assembly is meeting this morning to discuss Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
That’s as talks between the two countries continue near the Belarusian border.
Ukrainian authorities say at least 44 people have been wounded in fighting in Ukraine’s second-largest city of Kharkiv, and that seven of them died in hospitals.
Videos posted on Ukrainian social networks show residential buildings being hit by a series of powerful explosions. Meanwhile, Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly has told the U-N Human Rights Council in Geneva that Russia lied to the world before it invaded Ukraine.
Joly says Russia chose to resort to lies and violence to fabricate an excuse to attack Ukraine.
She is urging Moscow to respect the rights of Russian people protesting the invasion.
