PRINCE GEORGE — The Independent Investigation Office (IIO) has wrapped up its investigation into an incident involving the RCMP and a cyclist back in May 2019.

On May 11 2019, a man was taken to jail following a confrontation with police that started at 5th Avenue and Ewert Street.

The man was injured during the confrontation but wasn’t taken to hospital until the next day. The IIO has concluded that the the RCMP did not use unnecessary or excessive force during the arrest but did find that detachment personnel failed to provide appropriate care for the prisoner.

But that employee won’t face charges because she was an employee of the city.
