Man arrested following stolen ambulance crash

HOUSTON—RCMP were called to the scene of a crash involving a BC ambulance at around 1 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022.
The crash was near the entrance of the Lions Beach Campground, south of Granisle, BC. One person was seen leaving the scene of the crash. When police arrived they found the ambulance was rolled and no BC Emergency Services personnel were on scene.
Police found an adult man walking along the highway with injuries consistent with being in a motor vehicle crash. The man was arrested in connection with the stolen ambulance.
Officers later confirmed that the ambulance was stolen from Granisle. The suspect is currently in custody and could face multiple charges.
