PRINCE GEORGE—Opening almost seven years ago Rocky Mountain Chocolate Prince George was opened by local Trent Derrick.

“We sell everything. So we do a lot of chocolate. We have our ice cream, we do caramel apples, we have chocolate dip candy and one of our most favorite things is our frozen chocolate dip cheesecake,“ said Derrick

Derrick used to live on Vancouver Island and had a favourite treat to indulge in, but when he returned to Prince George it was nowhere to be found.

“I notice that I would always get chocolate peanut butter cups and when I was moving back to Prince George, like, hey there, there’s no chocolate place that has giant peanut butter cups. I looked into the franchise and the rest is history,” said Derrick.

Derrick used this successful business to help his community.

“Our motto is to serve the community of Prince George, and we can do that in lots of different capacities. One of my favorites is the period Promise. So we’ve committed to supplying products for our female employees, and we also support the period promised by collecting products and donating to local charities,” said Derrick.

Derrick is honoured that the positive energy he puts into the community has come back in the form of an Amplify nomination.

“I’m very thankful to whoever did it and you seem to be grateful that the community recognizes the work that we do with our charity work, with our promoting and how we offer our customer service,” said Derrick.
