To Your Health: Brain Injury Group

The Prince George Brain Injury Group helps hundreds of Prince George residents every year who suffer brain injuries. Through classes, employment assistance and volunteer opportunities the group does everything they can to help those affected live meaningful lives.

June 20, 2022, saw the Prince George Brain Injury Group host an open house in an effort to help educate the public on the work they do.

“We’re hoping to shine a light on brain injury. We want to showcase for the local community. The work that we do here on behalf of individuals who survive brain injury,” said Paul Zorzi, a case worker with the Prince George Brain Injury Group.

Brain injuries may be more common than you are aware of. 22,000 BC residents survive a brain injury each year.

“We serve over 500 members of our local community every year. We do so largely through case management services We also have a variety of educational and social groups and classes for our members,” said Zorzi.

They are also in the community trying to help prevent future brain injuries.

“We run a robust injury prevention program to bring resources and information to the community about how to avoid injury in the first place. We’re the largest service provider of our type in northern B.C.,” said Zorzi.

The Brain Injury Group has made a difference in the lives of thousands of people through compassion and education
