BC Hydro recommends switching to heat pump this Summer to save energy

PRINCE GEORGE– With temperatures expected to reach the mid to high 20’s this week you can bet that we’ll need to cool off. Rather than looking at getting A/C installed at the house, experts say you could look at some other environment-friendly options like Heat Pumps which work both in the summer and winter.

They also recommended you assess any air leakage in your home whether that’s sealing up any cracks or closing your windows to keep the cool air in. during those hot summer days.

Both BC Hydro and the provincial government encourage getting Heat Pumps installed to help cut back on the environmental impact, all while helping you save money with it. Offering over $10,000 in rebates to help you buy and install it in your home.

And if you’re looking to cool your house there are some simple things you can do like closing the blinds to help the sun from getting into rooms, Only using A/C in the rooms you need, and if you buy a portable A/C Machine look for an environmentally friendly one.

All to help you stay cool while trying to save a bit of money and energy.
