City of Prince George to assist with 3 cooling centres during heat wave
PRINCE GEORGE – Three cooling centres in the downtown core will be open to assist vulnerable populations in the City of Prince George during the upcoming heat wave.
The City of Prince George has also opened the Emergency Operations Centre at Level 1 to assist with the supplies that may be needed across the community during the weak of hot weather.
The following locations have confirmed their availability as cooling centres, these spaces will allow people to gather and provide bottled water and snacks, starting Tuesday morning:
- Central Interior Native Health Society, 1100 4th Avenue, (08:30-16:00 Tues/Thurs/Fri, 13:00-16:00 Wed)
- The POUNDS Project, 1126 3rd Avenue, (07:00-11:00, 12:00 – 17:00 and 18:00-22:00 Tues – Sun)
- PG Schizophrenia Society, 1131 6th Avenue, (10:00-16:00, Tues – Fri)
