RCMP seek jewelry thief

PRINCE GEORGE — Local Mounties are seeking your help in identifying the person responsible for a robbery earlier this week.

Prince George RCMP say that shortly before noon on Monday, August 15, they received a report of a robbery at a store on the 1900-block of Victoria Street.

“Employees at the location said a man entered the store and sprayed bear spray toward the employees,” says Cpl. Jennifer Cooper. “The suspect then used a hammer to smash a glass case and stole some jewelry before leaving the store.”

Police quickly attended the scene but were able to locate the suspect, who is described as wearing:

  • A red hat
  • Two masks
  • Glasses
  • Black gloves
  • Dark grey sweater
  • Grey sweatpants
  • Black and white shoes

RCMP say the suspect left the area riding a red BMX bike with a blue right rear triangle and white front tire. Total value of the theft is over $1,400.

The employees affected by the bear spray recovered without serious injury.
