PRINCE GEORGE- It is the 110 time the British Columbia Northern Exhibition opened its gates to the city of Prince George this morning.

“It’s wildly exciting. This is the 110 anniversary of this event in Prince George, and it makes it a staple of our community,” said Kyle Sampson, the acting mayor. “This means that this event comes back year after year after year and provides a diverse offering for pretty much anybody.”

There are also dozens of local vendors around the BCNE. Who thank the community for the work being put into the event.

“I’m so grateful to be able to be a part of all of these local events and have the community supporting all of us who work so hard at our occupation,” said Teresa White of Crafty Redhead.

While the exhibition attracts thousands from Prince George, people from all over the province come into town.

“Enjoy the rest of our community. Whether going into our shops or businesses or just enjoying some of our trails or recreation sites around the community,” said Sampson. “Prince George has it all.”

Whether it is the food, the rides, or just the atmosphere, everyone has a favourite part of the BCNE.

“I like to take it a little bit at a time, so I’ll probably come for a ride or two. Maybe I’m not the biggest ride guy, but I will try every food in the food court,” said Sampson.

Other Highlights include a main stage, which will host local talent, musicians, and other entertainers all weekend long.
