3rd Ave construction affecting local businesses
PRINCE GEORGE – With the city replacing the water main on 3rd avenue it has warranted 3 months of construction. Construction can be a pain sometimes. It can cause loud noises, uncomfortable vibrations, and roads and sidewalks being closed. It also doesn’t bode well for business around it, including Books and Company on 3rd Avenue. The local business says they’ve seen significantly less foot traffic since the construction started.
They’re not the only local business affected as Sunset Yoga customers have been forced to adapt due to the lack of parking downtown and walking through the construction before and after classes.
However, the biggest concern is both businesses wish the city would give them more information especially when it affects their spaces directly. Both companies voiced their concerns to CKPG about the lack of information they have received whether it involves shutting off their water or their doors being closed to due the sidewalk and road being repaired.
