Vet shortages plague Prince George residents

PRINCE GEORGE — A shortage of veterinarians across the country has hit Prince George especially hard.
Wait times of well over a week to get appointments with vets are now common. In June veterinarian clinics stopped after-hours services in the city citing burnout as the main reason. The province has since approved funding to double the number of people going to vet schools but some experts say that it is not enough.
