PRINCE GEORGE — Mayor Lyn Hall weighed in on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

“Well, she means a significant amount to Prince George. You know, she was here in 1994 for the opening of the university. At the same time, we opened up the Civic Center and so she was here for that event. When I was about 16 or 17, she paid a visit to my hometown,” said Hall

He went on to talk about the legacy she left behind around the world.

“It’s one of those legacies where she was in power for 70 years, seven decades, and she has seen a tremendous amount of prime ministers come and go, both in Canada and her home country and around the world. It is significant to be in that position for 70 years, I think it says a lot about the person and a lot about how truly committed to the position and to the role she was,” said Hall.
