Former SD57 employee running for trustee position
PRINCE GEORGE — A former employee with the Prince George School District is taking a run at a trustee seat this fall.
Erica McLean spent eight years as a community school coordinator in School District 57 before resigning over the summer. So why run for office?
“It was a tricky decision but one that also seemed like the next logical step. I truly care about success for kids and I care about this work and this is a way I can continue to do that.”
One of her main priorities if elected would be to ’empower educators’. She says this is really important following the release of the special advisors report, which found systemic racism existed in the school district. She says she saw first hand how it affected teachers and students.
