Missing teen located by police

PRINCE GEORGE — Update: RCMP say Lafontaine has been located and is safe and sound. They are thanking the media and public for their assistance in this matter.

Earlier: Prince George RCMP is looking for your help in locating a missing girl.

Margaret Lafontaine is a 19-year-old indigenous female that has been missing since September 20, 2022. She last spoke to friends around 11:00 pm.

Lafontaine is described as:

• 160 cm (5’3”)

• 48 kg (105 lb)

• Brown eyes

• Black hair

• Hair is now chin-length

• Last seen wearing a black jacket and pink shirt

“Margaret’s family is very concerned for her wellbeing as it is unusual for her not to contact her family for this length of time. Investigators are asking that anyone with any information on Margaret or her whereabouts please contact the Prince George RCMP non-emergency line by calling 250-561-3300, or contact their local police detachment,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, media spokesperson for the Prince George RCMP.
