Protesters gather downtown to honour Mahsa Amini
Many community members gathered in Wood Innovation Square to join in on one of the biggest protests worldwide.
There were chants of woman, life, freedom and down with the Islamic regime carrying throughout downtown Saturday morning.
Protests started throughout Iran and now across the world, including here in Prince George, after 22- year old Mahsa Amini died in hospital three days after being taken into custody and allegedly beaten brutally by the Iranian government’s ” morality police ” for violating dress code rules in Iran.
Since Protests began across the globe, the Iranian government has cut internet access in what is believed to be an attempt to prevent organization.
