For the more experienced players like Kiana Swift, she’s seen the younger players grow over the games that have been played this season.

“Definitely, we are a younger team, but our first and second years are so eager to learn and I think that’s really great for our program. Another player in her first year is striker Kate Rattee who moved to Prince George this year. Although Kate is redshirting this year she has put herself in a position to learn from one of UNBC’s great woman strikers, Paige Payne.

I actually have gone to (Payne) for advice. She’s said that I remind her of her when she first started. So I’m hoping to one day be close to her level. It would be awesome because she’s like a role model for me. Definitely want to be scoring goals like her one day. –Kate Rattee, 1st year Striker
