PRINCE GEORGE — With the municipal election set to take place in hours, on October 15 Prince George residents will cast their votes for mayor and city council, there is also another election taking place.

Residents of Electoral Area A in the Regional District for Fraser-Fort George, will elect a new director. This will be the only election in the RDFFG for electoral areas, as the other six incumbent directors in areas C, D, E, G and H were acclaimed, as they had no opponent to run against.

Electoral area A is the exception this election cycle, as Kyanna Coe and Victor Mobley are both in the hunt to become the new director. Incumbent director Warren Wilson did no seek re-election.

Victor Mobley believes that with a straight-forward, honest approach he can best represent the approximately 3500 residents of electoral area A. Mobley believes that the close, tight-knit community culture present in the area is an attractive quality to bring in new business and in turn, foster growth.

Kyanna Coe, who grew up in Ness Lake, believes she understands the concerns and needs of residents in her area. She noted that area A needs better emergency preparedness when it comes to planning, and community development is another key issue for Coe. Coe wants more people and businesses to come to area A as the potential growth would benefit everyone in the region.

If you are a resident of Electoral Area A, voting will take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m tomorrow Saturday, October 15 at the following locations:

Ness Lake Community Hall, 9770 Lakeside Drive, Prince George, BC

Nukko Lake Elementary School, 23955 Chief Lake Road, Nukko Lake, BC

Shas Ti Kelly Road Secondary School, 7405 Kelly Rd S, Prince George, BC
