PRINCE GEORGE – It was a tense wait for many candidates on saturday night, as the final results for the new School District 57 Board of Trustees were delayed. Come Monday morning though, and 7 candidates could breathe a sigh of relief, finally able to call themselves “Trustee Elect”.

Betty Bekkering, long time trustee incumbent from Prince George, returns for another term. Both Rachael Weber and Bob Thompson, being the only candidates in their districts of Mackenzie and Robson Valley respectively, winning their respective seats by acclimation. Joining them at the SD-57 round-table, retired principal and educator, Craig Brennan, financial accountant Gillian Burnett, as well as chauffer and father of four, Cory Antrim. Indigenous Education Worker and Advocate Erica McLean led the polls and received the lions share of the vote.

All the candidates share the same eagerness to hit the ground running and get to know their new co-workers.
