KAMLOOPS — The Prince George Cougars were able to pull through a nail-biter of a 4-3 win Saturday (October 22) over the Kamloops Blazers in overtime.

With a late-game goal as the clock had under a minute left, Chase Wheatcroft scored to tie the game and sent the game into overtime.

Ty Young had a terrific night stopping 45 shots with big saves in OT to secure the win.

In the extra period, the Cougars’ first shot in OT went top shelf from Koehn Ziemmer to lift PG.

Withstanding the Blazers’ offense, specifically, Logan Stankoven was a tough task for PG as he scored his first hat-trick of the season.

The win lifts the Cougars’ record to the .500 margin and now sits at 5-5-0-0.

The character-building win marks the Cougars’ second straight win and now head into next week’s battle with the Seattle Thunderbirds on Friday (October 28).

As PG heads home, puck drop for Friday’s game against Seattle is at 7:00 p.m.
