Spruce Kings stomp Vipers 8-0 in dominant effort

VERNON — The Prince George Spruce Kings were too much to handle for the Vernon Vipers on Saturday (October 22) night.

In an 8-0 shutout win, the Spruce Kings added to their impressive record against Vernon as John Herrington secured his first career hat trick.

PG goalie Jordan Fairlie stopped every shot he faced on Saturday leading to his second shutout of the year.

The Vipers’ goalie story was a little different as Roan Clarke was pulled after allowing seven goals on 30 shots.

Heading into Saturday’s dominant effort, Prince George found themselves in a slump losing three games in a row, one coming in a shootout loss.

This win puts PG back on the winning wagon and lifts their spirits heading into the next game.

The Spruce Kings improve to 7-3-0-1 while the Vipers fall to 5-5-0-1.

PG now returns home for a pair of games at Kopar Memorial Arena next weekend against the Wenatchee Wild.
