PRINCE GEORGE- All it took was one swipe of the pen Monday night, and a new school board was in place.

Excitement was the theme throughout the night.

“I’m very excited,” said Craig Brennan. ” We now have a lot of work ahead of us, but it’s an exciting time.”

Among those sworn in Monday was Erica Mclean, Gillian Burnett, Cory Antrim, Betty Beckkering, Bob Thompson, Craig Brennen and Rachel Weber.

Other items on the agenda included voting for a chairperson and vice chairperson. Wich went to Weber and Brennen, respectively.

“I was really happy that the board of trustees have faith in me, and they see something in me that they can put their trust in,” said Weber.

The board knows there is plenty of work ahead of them.

“We are not a perfect district, and we will always have issues. There will always be problems, and there will always be situations,” said Weber. “It’s how we handle them. Are we going to correct things and move forward and fix things.”

With four new trustees, A learning curve is expected.

“We are all here for our kids. We are all here to make this a better district for everybody. I think this is turning over a new leaf,” said Weber.

The next school board meeting will be held on December 3.
