30th annual Joy Hoffman Memorial tournament set to take place over coming days

PRINCE GEORGE– This weekend teams from all over BC will be here in Prince George taking part in the 30th annual Joy Hoffman Memorial tournament. The tournament returns after being postponed last year due to Covid.

A special tribute to Joy Hoffman who was loved around the community of Prince George and was instrumental in the establishment of the Northern BC Ringette League. The first tournament took place in 1990 and then became the Memorial tournament when Hoffman tragically passed away from cancer. However, her daughter Maxine knows how much her mom loved the tournament.

For Organizer Jen Erickson it’s always extra special putting together the tournament every year, knowing it’s paying tribute to one of the great Ringette Figures in Prince George.

The tournament will be taking place from the 11th to the 13th with a big celebration and ceremony set to take place Saturday all at the Kin Centre.
